So…about this weather. I honestly feel like I was born on the wrong part of the globe, for me. I’ve never been capable of tolerating hot weather. Anything over 80 degrees turns my stomach and immediately makes cranky. I’m serious! I loose my appetite, and I get snippy and more impatient than ever. Is it just me?
Perhaps, but it doesn’t change the fact that I still have to go out almost daily in this East Coast humidity. I’m also…retaining a bit of holiday weight….since early 2015. So none of my shorts really fit me–or much of me anyway.
So onto my comfiest, most cut up jeans. Yay! They’ve got more fabric than shorts, but they cover what needs to be covered and allow air up in there so I don’t sweat to death in odd areas.
I make one pair of jeans go all over for various occasions. To stuff my face at a BBQ I like to layer so I can put on or take off anything depending on the time of day. A plain black tank with a gorgeous, lightweight kimono keeps me from looking overly basic.
For a bit of a ‘fancier’ take on jeans, I will usually skip to a nice, light weight top. Wearing anything other than cotton usually makes me sweat like no tomorrow. But with an off the shoulder top, I’m catching just enough breeze in the important areas. Plus I won’t really mess with a nice tan. Just be sure your top is cropped or a little long–anything in between could potentially add visual weight to you.
Ball game? Okay, no. I’m not into sports at all, except for soccer or tennis here and there. But if I’m heading somewhere super casual, or running errands then I’ll go for a cute bralette under a sport t-shirt. Destroyed denim isn’t just made to be dressed up.
Finally, my go to look with any jeans is a pretty tank top. I love anything with little details or a cute pattern. It takes any ordinary silhouette and transforms an outfit entirely.
